To All: Headteachers, Primary Link Teachers, PE Co-ordinators, Subject Leaders for Physical Education, Teaching Assistants, Support Staff involved in PE
You are invited to attend the 6th ND PEDPASS Partnership Annual Primary Conference. The conference is to be held on Wednesday 19th May 2010 at Highbullen Hotel, Chittlehamholt.
Programme for the day:
8.45am to 9.15am - Registration
9.15am – 10.00am - Introduction followed by Key Note from Steve Kibble (Advisor for Physical Education, PEDPASS Strategy Manager) "The PE Landscape, Challenges and Opportunities"
10.00am - 12.30pm - Activity/Workshop 1 (includes coffee/tea break mid-morning)
12.30pm - 1.30pm - Lunch
1.30pm - 3.15pm - Activity/Workshop 2
3.15am - 3.45pm - Afternoon break for tea/coffee in Learning Community teams
3.45pm - 4.15pm - Closing Address and Evaluation
4.15 - Depart
Outcomes of the conference:
- A celebration of the work of the Partnership over the past year
- A challenge for delegates regarding the Partnership ambition of 7 x 60 activity for all young people
- An opportunity for delegates to take part in 2 practical workshops to support High Quality PE and Sport in schools
- To support PE subject leaders in their role to develop High Quality PE and Sport in their school
All delegates should choose 2 from the 5 activities/workshops offered below,1 for the morning session and 1 for the afternoon session. Please also indicate a reserve choice.
All activities/workshops are designed to give content as well as support the process of learning.
Primary Link Teachers will be encouraged to share the content of workshops back at school with colleagues.
All workshops will explore the resources available to support each of the activities.
WORKSHOPS: Morning
A. Developing Leadership and Volunteering in your school – The Young Leader Award (ECM - Making a Positive Contribution)
B. Methods of identifying the Gifted and Talented young people in Physical Education and then signposting towards appropriate pathways: Resources to further develop talent
C. Developing Intra Sport in the primary school setting (appropriate competition)
D. Using Information from PESSYP data and the Active Pupil survey to inform planning and populate the school SEF
E. Follow on from the keynote by Steve Kibble: an opportunity to review the recommendations from the Rose review
WORKSHOPS: Afternoon
A. Developing Leadership and Volunteering in your school – The Young Leader Award (ECM - Making a Positive Contribution)

F. Olympic Legacy in Devon - Steve Kibble: A workshop exploring the opportunities and programmes planned to support the Olympic legacy work in Devon over the next 18 months.
