Education Day – GoldCoast Oceanfest

Your school is invited to take part in the above event aimed at all Year 6 classes in the North Devon PEDPASS Partnership. Small schools may bring their Upper Key Stage 2 pupils, as in past years.
Format for Education day:
9.45am – 10.15am Registration of schools on arrival and opportunity to look around area
10.15am – 11.15am Practical Session 1 AONB Orienteering Challenge – on the beach and surrounding area
Lunch Break (During the lunch break schools are encouraged to visit the workshops in festival site area)
12.15pm – 1.15pm Practical Session 2 (Beach Flags / Beach relays)
1.15pm - 1.45pm Finals of Beach Flags and Beach Relay Events (for winners of Session 2)
1.55pm - 2.00pm Presentation of prizes on the main stage
2.00pm – Finish (all schools welcome to stay longer if transport allows)
Practical sessions 1 and 2 and Lunch break will rotate, however movement time is built into the programme. Timings are subject to change as the main arena programme is finalised.
Details of the Festival Area workshops etc will also be sent nearer the time. As per last year, advance information will be given to schools/pupils to prepare for the events on the day together with opportunities for follow-up work.
This year there is a registration fee to attend the event to cover the cost of parking. For schools registering up to 45 young people the charge is £30 and for schools bringing 46 or more young people the charge is £50; there are no other costs linked to the event. If two or more schools join together for transport the £30 charge will be shared. This charging system will cater for either coach or car parking charges that the partnership will incur. Charging for the Registration Fee will be collected through the county system.
